Community Training: Addressing Homelessness and Providing Support

The Michiana Community Health Coalition is proud to promote a series of monthly training sessions led by Carl Hetler, the Homeless Coordinator for the City of South Bend. These sessions aim to empower community health workers by expanding their education to better serve the homeless community. Carl Hetler's expertise provides essential knowledge on homelessness, mental health resources, and strategies for building a trauma-aware environment.

Designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of community health workers, these sessions equip participants with the tools needed to offer proper care and resources to those in need, while also expanding their career opportunities.

Our training is open to everyone. We invite community members, volunteers, and anyone interested in learning about homelessness and how to contribute to creating supportive, trauma-informed communities to join us. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of the homeless and build a more compassionate society.

Join us each month to gain a deeper understanding, share experiences, and collaborate on effective solutions to support the homeless population. Your participation helps create a community of care and resilience.
