Welcoming the Michiana Community into Care

Building bridges between the community and health resources to advance research, provide opportunities for student education, and improve public health in the South Bend-Elkhart community

Promoting Community Health and Well-being:

Welcome to the Michiana Community Health Coalition (MCHC)

We are a collaborative force dedicated to enhancing the health and vitality of the South Bend-Elkhart region. Through dynamic in-person engagements, we prioritize:

  • Research advancement and aligning resources:

The University of Notre Dame and it's students and colleagues have partnered with community organizations to bring forth voices who will share experiences, and knowledge to propel solutions forward. This platform for learning helps solve some of the most difficult problems faced by our region and society.

  • Community well-being and connectedness:

The MCHC focuses on finding solutions and creating connections for community members to access care, resources, and provide a way to relate through storytelling and shared experiences.

  • Equitable access to care:

The MCHC seeks to connect the community with resoures and agencies who can offer: Low-barrier housing, transportation, educational opportunities, career development, improved public health.
